India -- the poverty, colour, religion and danger.
15th April 2006
I spent 16 days visiting India during the school holidays. The purpose was to see an education project for street children in Delhi. I saw how poverty turns people into liars. And then I continued my travelling: I experienced the stunning colours of Jaipur, the religious spirit of Varanasi and the danger in the peaceful lake in Srinigar. When I came back to the UK with 2000 photos, all I knew for certain is that I thought one thing in the beginning, but came to a quite different conclusion in the end. India seemed to have a way of making me do that. (see more photos in the gallery 'Butterflies project' and 'India')
